Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar.
  2. Add cocoa and eggs, then flour and remaining ingredients in alternation.
  3. Bake in 11 x 13-inch pan for 30 minutes at 350°.
