- In a saucepan, combine cheese soup, milk, butter, and chives, cooking and stirring until the butter melts.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine this mixture and bread mix.
- Turn out on a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth, about 5 to 10 minutes, adding additional flour if necessary.
- Invert a bowl over the dough and let rest for 25 minutes.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 225°F for 20 minutes.
- Increase oven temperature to 425°F and bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes.
- Cover the pan with foil during the last 10 minutes of baking if the bread browns too quickly.
