Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. very warm water
  • 1/2 c. margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. sugared, sliced, fresh peaches
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle yeast into very warm water in a bowl and stir to dissolve.
  2. Thoroughly cream margarine with sugar in a large electric mixer bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, sifted flour, salt, and milk to the creamed mixture.
  4. Beat at medium speed until blended, about 45 seconds.
  5. Spread the batter in a well-greased 9-inch square pan.
  6. Arrange sugared, sliced, well-drained peaches on top of the batter.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 45 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
