Ingredients

  • 8 oz. bulk Italian sausage
  • 4 oz. wide noodles
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 c. cream-style cottage cheese
  • 6 oz. sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • 15 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Brown the Italian sausage; drain off the fat.
  2. Cook the wide noodles in boiling salted water according to package directions; drain.
  3. Combine the beaten egg, cottage cheese, grated Parmesan, and cooked meat.
  4. In a 10 x 6 x 2-inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked noodles, the meat mixture, sliced mozzarella, and spaghetti sauce; repeat the layers.
  5. Bake uncovered in a 375°F oven for 50 minutes.
  6. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
  7. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
