Ingredients

  • 2 (3 oz.) packets crab and shrimp boil
  • 6 lb. fresh large or jumbo shrimp, unpeeled
  • 2 gal. water
  • fresh parsley sprigs
  • commercial seafood cocktail sauce

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 gallons of water to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Add the crab and shrimp boil packets to the boiling water.
  3. Boil for 15 to 20 minutes to infuse flavors.
  4. Add the unpeeled shrimp to the water and bring it back to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 3 to 5 minutes until shrimp are cooked.
  6. Drain the shrimp well and transfer to a bowl.
  7. Chill the shrimp in the refrigerator until cold.
  8. Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on if desired.
