Deviled Crab In Shell

Delicious in-shell crab dish with a flavorful mixture of mustard, brandy, and spices, topped with bread crumbs and baked to perfection, perfect for seafood lovers and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. crab meat
  • 1 small green pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. brandy
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup white sauce

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, sauté the finely chopped green pepper.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion in butter for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 2 tablespoons brandy, 1 tablespoon dry mustard, 1 tablespoon prepared mustard, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and the white sauce.
  4. Stir in the crab meat and bread crumbs.
  5. Heat over low heat and stir gently.
  6. Spoon the mixture into crab shells.
  7. Sprinkle tops with bread crumbs and dot with butter.
  8. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
  9. Brown the tops under the broiler for a few minutes.
