Ingredients

  • 1 envelope dry yeast
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 to 6 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water in a bowl.
  2. Stir in sugar, eggs, oil, and salt.
  3. Add flour, 2 cups at a time, mixing to form stiff dough.
  4. Place in an oiled bowl, turning to oil the surface.
  5. Let rise, covered with a damp cloth, until doubled in bulk.
  6. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  7. Shape into rolls; place in a greased baking pan or muffin cups.
  8. Brush with oil.
  9. Let rise until doubled in bulk.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 17 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. May glaze or brush with melted margarine.
