- Combine 1 1/2 cups flour with the sugar, salt, and dry active yeast.
- Combine milk, water, and margarine in a saucepan.
- Warm over low heat to 115° to 120°F.
- Remove from heat and gradually add the flour mixture.
- Beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides of the bowl occasionally.
- Add 1/2 cup flour and beat on high for 2 minutes.
- Stir in additional flour to form a soft dough.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured board.
- Knead 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, turn over, and grease the top.
- Let rise for 15 minutes.
- Turn out on a floured board, divide dough in half, and shape into rolls.
- Cover and let rest in a warm place for 15 minutes.
- Bake at 425°F for 12 minutes or until done.
