Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 3/4 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening, eggs, and 1 1/2 cups sugar thoroughly.
  2. Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar, and salt separately.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix well.
  4. Chill the dough for ease of handling.
  5. Make into small balls and roll in 2 tablespoons sugar mixed with cinnamon.
  6. Place on baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
