Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. cold water

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, cornmeal, salt, egg, and cold water in a bowl; beat with a rotary beater until smooth.
  2. Use a 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup measuring cup to scoop batter.
  3. Pour the batter onto a hot griddle.
  4. Quickly smooth out the batter in a thin circle using the bottom of the measuring cup.
  5. If a hole appears, drop more batter in and smooth out.
  6. Bake until the shells are done.
