Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Northern beans
  • water
  • ham chunks (1 to 2 inches thick)
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Put the washed Northern beans into a large pan and cover with water 2 to 4 inches above the beans.
  2. Add several ham chunks, salt, and pepper to the pan.
  3. Cook on medium-high heat until the beans are tender, about 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Serve hot with cornbread and fried potatoes.
