Ingredients

  • 8 (5 to 6 oz.) catfish filets, skin removed
  • salt
  • Old Bay seasoning
  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Fill a fryer or a deep pot halfway with oil and heat to 350°F.
  2. Sprinkle both sides of each catfish filet with salt and Old Bay seasoning.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour and cornmeal.
  4. Dredge each seasoned catfish filet in the flour and cornmeal mixture.
  5. Carefully place the coated catfish in the hot oil and deep fry for approximately 7 to 8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain the fried catfish on paper towels before serving.
