Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 bunch celery including leaves
  • 4-6 large onions
  • 1 green pepper including seeds
  • 1 quart canned tomatoes
  • small amount brown rice (optional)
  • 1 quart water

Instructions

  1. Cut up the cabbage, celery, onions, and green pepper, then put them in a large pan or Dutch oven.
  2. Add 1 quart of water and simmer until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Add the canned tomatoes and let the soup cool.
  4. Store the soup in the refrigerator.
  5. Heat a bowl of soup whenever you feel hungry.
