Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 can red kidney beans, drained

Instructions

  1. Brown about a pound of ground chuck in a small amount of oil. When the meat is browned, add the chopped onion and cook for several minutes.
  2. Add chopped celery and bell pepper, then pour in a can of tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Let these ingredients cook slowly for about 5 minutes.
  4. If the mixture is too juicy, thicken it by adding about a tablespoon of flour to make a smooth paste.
  5. Add the drained red kidney beans.
  6. Simmer the mixture for 30 minutes before serving.
