Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 whole onions
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp dried thyme leaves
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Place the whole onions in a baking dish.
  2. Add the canned tomatoes on top of the onions.
  3. Dot with butter over the onions and tomatoes.
  4. Sprinkle generously with salt, lots of pepper, and dried thyme leaves.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 1/2 hours until the onions are tender and cooked through.
