Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup Crisco
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Put warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add 2 eggs and Crisco; beat with a mixer for 1 minute.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon salt and 2 cups flour; beat for 2 minutes.
  5. Add 2 more cups flour; beat until smooth.
  6. Add remaining 2 1/2 cups flour gradually.
  7. Stir with a spoon until dough is formed.
  8. Let dough rest for 20 minutes.
  9. Shape dough into rolls and let rise until doubled in size.
  10. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes until golden brown.
