Ingredients

  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups milk, scalded
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Add the scalded milk to the mixture and stir well.
  3. Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
  4. Bake in a very hot 475°F oven for 5 minutes.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 425°F and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until set.
  6. Sprinkle with nutmeg before serving if desired.
