Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks (2 inches each)
  • 1 quart ginger ale
  • whole cloves
  • orange slices
  • lemon slices
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, water, and spices (whole cloves and cinnamon sticks) in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove the spices and let the syrup cool.
  3. Add cranberry juice, lemon juice, and orange juice to the cooled syrup.
  4. Refrigerate until chilled.
  5. Just before serving, add ginger ale to the juice mixture in a punch bowl.
  6. Garnish with slices of orange and lemon studded with whole cloves.
