Spicy Beef Curry
Ingredients
- 1 lb chuck roast, cut into 1/2-inch size pieces ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon ginger, crushed ⓘ
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1 jalapeno, diced ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon chili powder ⓘ
- sri lankan curry powder ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons salt ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon tamarind paste ⓘ
- 1/2 cup coconut milk ⓘ
Instructions
- Mix meat, salt tamarind, curry powder, turmeric, chili powder and black pepper.
- Heat oil in a dutch oven and fry onions and jalapeno until onion is golden color.
- Add garlic and ginger.
- Add the meat and mix well, keep cooking for about 2 more minutes.
- Add the coconut milk and water and cook at medium heat for about 1/2 hours.
- Serve with white rice.
