- Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain excess fat.
- Add tomato sauce, chopped Ro-Tel tomatoes and green chilies, sugar, salt, and dried basil to the beef.
- Cover and cook the mixture for 20 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Cook the wide noodles according to package instructions and then drain.
- Line the bottom of a greased, shallow 2-quart casserole dish with one-third of the cooked noodles.
- Mix the chives with sour cream and Ricotta cheese until well combined.
- Spread one-third of the cheese mixture over the noodles in the casserole.
- Layer with one-third of the meat sauce over the cheese layer.
- Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with a meat sauce layer on top.
- Bake the assembled lasagna at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
- Sprinkle grated Mozzarella cheese over the top and return to the oven until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
