Spicy Lasagna combines hearty ground beef, creamy cheeses, and a touch of heat from green chilies, making it a flavorful comfort dish perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (10 oz.) can Ro-Tel tomatoes and green chilies
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. wide noodles
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Mozzarella
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 2 tsp. chives

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Add tomato sauce, chopped Ro-Tel tomatoes and green chilies, sugar, salt, and dried basil to the beef.
  3. Cover and cook the mixture for 20 minutes to let flavors meld.
  4. Cook the wide noodles according to package instructions and then drain.
  5. Line the bottom of a greased, shallow 2-quart casserole dish with one-third of the cooked noodles.
  6. Mix the chives with sour cream and Ricotta cheese until well combined.
  7. Spread one-third of the cheese mixture over the noodles in the casserole.
  8. Layer with one-third of the meat sauce over the cheese layer.
  9. Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with a meat sauce layer on top.
  10. Bake the assembled lasagna at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  11. Sprinkle grated Mozzarella cheese over the top and return to the oven until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
