Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, halved and chopped
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 c tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c chili sauce
  • 1/2 c dry red wine
  • 1/2 lemon, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and green pepper in oil until tender (about 4 minutes); stir often.
  2. Add tomato sauce, chili sauce, wine, and lemon slices.
  3. Bring to a boil; lower heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature and remove lemon slices before serving.
