Spicy Steak features tender round steak coated with seasoned flour, baked with onion, lemon, bell pepper, and cloves for a flavorful, hearty meal perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds round steak, 1/2-inch thick
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Pound the seasoned mixture into the steak to coat.
  3. Melt shortening in a skillet and brown the steak on all sides.
  4. Place the browned steak in a large casserole dish.
  5. Blend catsup and water to create a sauce.
  6. Pour the sauce around the steak in the casserole.
  7. Add sliced onion, lemon, green bell pepper, and cloves on top.
  8. Cover tightly and bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 1 hour.
