Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bread dough
  • 10 oz. fresh spinach
  • 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oil

Instructions

  1. Roll out the bread dough into a large circle on a floured surface.
  2. Spread the torn spinach evenly over the dough.
  3. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Romano or Parmesan cheese over the spinach.
  4. Add chopped garlic, salt, and pepper on top.
  5. Drizzle oil over the spinach and cheese mixture.
  6. Roll the dough like a jelly roll to form a log.
  7. Fold the ends under to seal the roll.
  8. Brush the top of the dough with beaten egg.
  9. Place the roll on a greased cookie sheet.
  10. Bake in a 400°F oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
