Ingredients

  • 1 large acorn squash
  • brown sugar
  • salt
  • margarine
  • 1 cup applesauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange the halved acorn squash upside down in a shallow pan.
  3. Bake until almost tender, about 35 minutes.
  4. Turn the squash cut side up and sprinkle with salt to taste.
  5. Brush the cut sides with margarine.
  6. Sprinkle generously with brown sugar.
  7. Divide applesauce evenly between the squash halves.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes until heated through.
