- In a frying pan fry the sausage adding the onion and fennel. Season to taste. Braver souls might want to add hot pepper. Add the broth and couscous. Once it has boiled, let it sit a few minutes. Add the squid being careful not to overcook it (overcooked squid becomes rubber).
