Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. red or green food coloring
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon or peppermint candy flavoring

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and hot water. Cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches 300° (hard crack stage).
  2. Remove from the heat; add food coloring and flavoring. Pour mixture onto an oiled cookie sheet.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool thoroughly.
  4. Break into pieces to serve.
