Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak, cut into 1/2 x 2-inch strips
  • 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lb. green pepper
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 large jar sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and set up your crock‑pot.
  2. Add the steak strips to the crock‑pot.
  3. Pour in the tomato sauce and stir to coat the meat.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes, green pepper, celery, onions, and mushrooms over the steak.
  5. Season with garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  6. Set the crock‑pot to high and cook for 4 to 5 hours.
  7. After the high‑heat stage, switch the setting to low and cook for an additional 3 to 4 hours until the steak is tender.
  8. Add okra toward the end of the low‑heat cooking period and simmer until it softens.
  9. Serve hot, spooning the vegetables and sauce over the steak.
