Ingredients

  • 1 kumu or mullet (1 lb.)
  • 2 slices fresh ginger
  • 2 Tbsp. green onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. shoyu
  • 1/4 tsp. ajinomoto
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • Chinese parsley

Instructions

  1. Place the fish and ginger slices in a pot of boiling water, ensuring the water covers the fish.
  2. Turn off the flame and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Let it stand for 30 minutes or until the fish is cooked through.
  3. Remove the fish from the pot and place it on a serving platter.
  4. Sprinkle the finely chopped green onion over the fish.
  5. Garnish with Chinese parsley and drizzle with salad oil and soy sauce before serving.
