Ingredients

  • 7 to 8 apples
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 sticks butter
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup oats

Instructions

  1. Slice apples and arrange them in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of water over the apples.
  3. Mix sugar, flour, butter, salt, cinnamon, and oats into a crumbly mixture.
  4. Pour the crumb mixture evenly over the apples.
  5. Poke some of the crumbs down around the apples.
  6. Bake at 350°F for approximately 1 hour, until apples are soft.
  7. Serve warm, optionally topped with ice cream.
