Stew And Corn Bread Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 can (1 1/2 to 2 1/2 lb.) beef stew
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. self-rising cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. green onion or chopped green pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°.
  2. Empty beef stew into shallow baking dish.
  3. In mixing bowl, beat egg.
  4. Add oil, milk and cornmeal; mix thoroughly.
  5. Stir in cheese and green pepper or onions.
  6. Pour batter over stew.
  7. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until brown.
