Stewed Sweet Potatoes

Sweet and caramelized, stewed sweet potatoes featuring warm cinnamon and buttery richness, perfect as a comforting side for family meals or holiday feasts.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium sweet potatoes
  • few pieces stick cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes.
  2. Place the sweet potatoes in a heavy saucepan with all the other ingredients.
  3. Simmer gently until the sweet potatoes are tender, adding more boiling water if necessary.
  4. Allow the sweet potatoes to caramelize in the bottom of the saucepan.
  5. Serve with the caramelized sides facing up.
