Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups Crisco
  • 2 (10 oz.) packages frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon strawberry flavoring
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped black walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray bread pans with Pam or non-stick spray.
  2. Sift together the all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly. Add the softened Crisco and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with the thawed sliced strawberries (including juice).
  5. Stir in vanilla and strawberry flavoring until well combined.
  6. Add the finely chopped black walnuts and mix thoroughly.
  7. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
