Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, coarsely grated
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 quart strawberry nonfat frozen yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Line a cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy.
  4. Gradually beat in sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture is stiff and glossy.
  5. Do not underbeat.
  6. Gently fold in the grated unsweetened chocolate.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, until crisp.
  9. Let cool completely before serving with sliced strawberries and nonfat frozen strawberry yogurt.
