Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons butter

Instructions

  1. In the top of a double boiler, blend together sugar, flour, salt, and milk.
  2. Beat eggs and vanilla separately.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the double boiler and place over boiling water.
  4. Stir continuously until the filling thickens.
  5. Set the filling aside to cool.
  6. Cover the pie crust with a layer of sliced strawberries.
  7. Pour the cooled filling over the strawberries.
  8. Refrigerate until chilled.
  9. Spoon whipped cream around the edge of the filling.
  10. In the center, arrange whole berries.
