Strawberry Flumery

Instructions
- Combine 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, salt, and milk in a saucepan and whisk until smooth.
- Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir about a cup of the warmed mixture into the beaten egg yolk in a separate bowl.
- Add this egg mixture back into the saucepan with the hot mixture.
- Return to stove and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Stir in vanilla and pour into a dish.
- Chill until set.
- Serve with thawed strawberries on top.
