Ingredients

  • 1 package Pillsbury yellow cake mix with pudding
  • 2 pint fresh strawberries
  • 16 oz. jar strawberry glaze
  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 12 oz. whipped topping thawed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Bake the yellow cake according to package instructions for a 2-layer cake and cool completely.
  2. Slice the cake layers in half and place them in the freezer.
  3. Slice the fresh strawberries and mix them with the strawberry glaze, reserving 3 tablespoons of the mixture for the top.
  4. With a mixer, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, thawed whipped topping, and powdered sugar until well blended.
  5. Place a frozen halved cake layer on a serving platter.
  6. Spread a thin coating of the cream cheese mixture on the layer.
  7. Cover with 1/3 of the strawberry glaze mixture.
  8. Repeat the process with the next two frozen halved layers.
  9. Top with the remaining frozen halved layer and spread the remaining cream cheese mixture over the top.
  10. Place the reserved 3 tablespoons of strawberry glaze in the center of the cake.
  11. Decorate with the whole strawberries.
