Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 cup sifted flour

Instructions

  1. Cut the cream cheese and butter into the sifted flour.
  2. Work the mixture until it clings together in a ball.
  3. Chill the dough well in the refrigerator.
  4. Roll the cream cheese pastry out into a thin layer on a lightly floured board.
  5. Cut into small circles.
  6. Place a small amount of strawberry jam on each pastry circle.
  7. Fold the pastry over the jam and crimp the edges together with a fork.
  8. Brush the tops with milk and sprinkle lightly with a mixture of cinnamon, sugar, and finely chopped nuts.
  9. Place the tarts on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  10. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
