"Stuffing Lasagna"

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 c. spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 c. Stove Top chicken flavor stuffing mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (15 oz.) container Ricotta cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add 1 cup of spaghetti sauce and water; bring to a boil.
  4. Stir in the stuffing mix until just moistened, then remove from heat.
  5. Beat the egg in a medium bowl; stir in Ricotta and Parmesan cheese to make the cheese mixture.
  6. Spoon half of the stuffing mixture evenly into an 8-inch square baking dish.
  7. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the stuffing layer.
  8. Top with 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce and 3/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Repeat layers with remaining stuffing mixture, sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  10. Bake for 40 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  11. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
