Ingredients

  • 2 racks (6 1/2 lb.) pork ribs
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 12 peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine ribs, cider vinegar, chopped onion, peppercorns, salt, pepper, and water in a large pot or Dutch oven.
  2. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for one hour to tenderize the ribs.
  3. Drain the ribs; cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
  4. Remove ribs from refrigerator about 1 hour before grilling.
  5. Prepare the grill for cooking.
  6. Grill ribs for 10 minutes, turning once.
  7. Baste with barbecue sauce during grilling.
  8. Grill for an additional 5 minutes.
