Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. cracker crumbs
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and mustard in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Combine egg, onion, cracker crumbs, ground beef, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of the tomato mixture and blend thoroughly.
  4. Turn into a loaf pan.
  5. Make a depression in the top of loaf and pour remaining tomato mixture over top of meat.
  6. Cook, uncovered, for 1 hour at 350°.
  7. Serves 8.
