A hearty Sunday roast featuring tender chuck beef, roasted potatoes and carrots, topped with onions and flavorful seasonings, perfect for family gatherings and weekend dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 chuck roast, thawed
  • 6 to 8 potatoes
  • 6 to 8 carrots
  • 1 onion, sliced into rings
  • garlic salt
  • chili powder
  • barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F on Sunday morning before Sunday school.
  2. Peel the carrots and potatoes, then cut them into large chunks and set aside.
  3. Lightly grease the bottom of the roasting pan with a lid or cooking spray.
  4. Place the chuck roast in the pan and surround it with the prepared vegetables.
  5. Sprinkle garlic salt and chili powder over the meat and vegetables.
  6. Arrange onion rings on top of the meat and vegetables.
  7. Pour barbecue sauce over the entire roast and vegetables.
  8. Put the pan in the oven at 9:30 a.m. and cook until done, approximately 2 hours.
