Ingredients

  • 7 pt. water
  • 1 pt. vinegar
  • 1 c. salt
  • alum (optional)
  • 1 or 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 or 2 small onions
  • small hot pepper or horseradish
  • sprig of dill

Instructions

  1. Heat water, vinegar, and salt to boiling.
  2. Pour the boiling liquid into the jars with prepared ingredients.
  3. Seal the jars and place them in sunshine for two weeks.
  4. If the jars spew, wipe them clean and store them.
