- Melt butter in a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and milk.
- Pour the flour mixture evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
- Combine fresh peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, and water; stir well and spoon evenly over the flour mixture.
- Do not stir after spooning the peach mixture over the flour mixture.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
