Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups fresh peaches
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and milk.
  4. Pour the flour mixture evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  5. Combine fresh peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, and water; stir well and spoon evenly over the flour mixture.
  6. Do not stir after spooning the peach mixture over the flour mixture.
  7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
