Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Beat egg yolks until light; add sugar gradually and continue beating.
  2. Add cold water to the mixture.
  3. Mix sifted flour with baking powder and salt, then add to the egg mixture.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
  5. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
  6. Pour into a prepared baking pan and bake for 40 minutes at 350°F.
  7. Serve with strawberries and cream.
