Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. Pillsbury flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded pared apples
  • 1/4 c. melted butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg together; set aside. Mix sugar and shortening, creaming well.
  2. Blend in the egg.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients.
  5. Stir in shredded pared apples.
  6. Fill well-greased muffin pans 2/3 full in each muffin section.
  7. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.
  8. Take out of pans when done baking.
  9. Dip in the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon.
