Sweet kosher dill pickles offer a delightful combination of tangy, sweet, and aromatic spices, making them perfect for snacking or serving alongside meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 qt. kosher dill pickles
  • 1 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 4 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. whole cloves
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Drain 2 quarts of dill pickles and set in ice water overnight.
  2. Make a syrup with 1 1/2 cups white vinegar and 4 1/2 cups white sugar; bring to a boil.
  3. Drain ice water from pickles and pour the hot syrup mixture over them.
  4. Cover and let set for 8 to 10 hours.
  5. Drain the syrup mixture from the pickles and put it back into a saucepan.
  6. Add 2 sticks of cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of whole cloves, and 2 bay leaves; bring to a boil.
  7. Put the pickles into jars and pour the heated mixture with spices over them, ensuring even distribution.
