Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 5 or 6 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Pour simmering water over sugar, margarine, and salt.
  2. Stir; cool slightly and add yeast, eggs, and flour in that order.
  3. Let rise in a bowl until doubled in size.
  4. Beat down and spoon bread dough into greased pans (two loaf pans or one tube pan).
  5. Let rise until 1 inch from top of pan.
  6. Bake at 325° for 35 minutes in loaf pans or 1 hour in a tube pan.
