Ingredients

  • 5 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Sift the self-rising flour, soda, and sugar together.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and set aside.
  3. Cut in the Crisco into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
  4. Add the yeast mixture and buttermilk to the flour mixture.
  5. Mix well and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Take out what you need from the refrigerator.
  7. Roll out the dough, cut into biscuits, and bake in a hot oven.
