Ingredients

  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • a piece of butter the size of a walnut

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches the soft ball stage.
  2. Grease your hands with butter.
  3. Pull the hot taffee between two people, stretching it until it is glossy and firm.
  4. Cut the pulled taffee into 1-inch pieces while still warm.
  5. Allow the pieces to cool before serving.
