Ingredients

  • 2 lb raisins
  • 1 lb brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups cold tea
  • 4 cups Presto flour
  • 6 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix together the raisins, brown sugar, and cold tea and soak overnight.
  2. Combine the soaked mixture with the flour, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, and beaten eggs.
  3. Pour the batter into two greased and floured loaf pans.
  4. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for about 1 1/2 hours until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
